Biography

Juda was born October 1770 in Virginia. She is the daughter of Isaac Eaton and Elizabeth Phoebe (Hall) Eaton.

She married James Rogers in 1795 in Grayson, Virginia, in the home of William Eaton.[citation needed]

Juda died at the age of 83 on 15 June 1854 in Whitley, Kentucky.[1]

Research Notes

Prior to a merge, she was indicated as the daughter of Isaac Eaton and Elizabeth Phoebe (Hall) Eaton, but the sources listed before do not explicitly support.

Her marriage record gives her surname as Sexton. Is her LNAB incorrect, or was she a widow?

Pension Application of James Rogers, wife Judy.[2]

"[fn p. 12: On July 6, 1849, Judy Rogers of Whitley County, Ky., filed for a widow's pension saying she was 79 year old; that she married her husband in February 1795 in the County of Grason [sic, Grayson], Virginia; that her husband died November 29, 1848 in Whitley County. S/ Judy Rogers, -- her mark]
"[fn p. 34: On March 5, 1850, William Eaton, 78, a resident of Whitley County, Kentucky gave testimony that Judy Rogers was his sister; that she was the veteran's only wife; that the statement in the veteran's application that his wife's name was Sally must have been a mistake for her name was never Sally but Judy.]"
