Biography

Jerusha Durkee was born at Windham, Colony of Connecticut, on 12 August 1710, a daughter of William Durkee (1671-1732) and Rebecca (Gould) Durkee (abt.1679-aft.1728).^[1]

She was married to Ebenezer Martin (1697-1775) in Windham on 1 April 1729, as his second wife.^[1][2]

Jerusha and Ebenezer Martin had nine children together:^[2]'

1. Joseph, born 29 March 1730; married (1) Elizabeth Ford, (2) Elizabeth Coy (or Cay), (3) Zerviah Dayley
2. Ebenezer, born 1 March 1732; married Susan Plumb
3. Jerusha, born 8 June 1734; married Joseph Utley
4. William, born 11 March 1736; married Naomi Upton
5. Elizabeth, born 1 August 1738; married Ebenezer Griffith Jr.
6. Amasa, born 7 October 1740; probably died young.
7. George, born 14 March 1742/3; married Dorothy Brown
8. Benjamin, born 28 February 1744/5; married Lucee Clark
9. Lucy or Lucee, born 8 May 1747; married Nathaniel Flint.

Ebenezer Martin died on 13 July 1775, and Jerusha survived as his widow. No record has been located of her death or remarriage.^[2]
