William Dugger died at age 58 circa 1773/4. He was buried at Fish Springs, Washington, North Carolina.

NOTE: The last record found for Mary Martha Dugger (William Dugger's widow) was a 1787 land grant. At that time, many historians claim that Mary Dugger moved from Wilkes Co, NC, and had joined her sons Julius and William Jr in what is now Carter Co, TN. William died in circa 1773-1776, so that does fit the timeline for a "widow" Dugger mentioned in 1785, living in Wilkes Co, NC.
