WEDDING

DRURY— d'ALISOFF

The Methodist Church, Taree, was recently the scene of a very pretty wedding when Sophie (only child of Mr. and Mrs. P. d'Alisoff, of Taree) was married to Mr. A. Leonard Drury, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Drury, of Jones Island. Rev. C. L. Connor performed the ceremony, assisted by Rev. A. A. T. Robens, of Coopernook. The bride entered the church on the arm of her father, who subsequently gave her away.

She was daintily attired in a trained frock of corded silk, over which was worn a beautiful hand-worked Brussels net veil mounted on tulle, finished with the new halo effect of twisted tulle, and carrying a sheaf of rosebuds and frangipanni. Miss Hope Mathers, Jones Island, attended the bride, frocked in apple-green sand crepe, with white picture hat and shoes. Her bouquet was of pale pink carnations and gerberas. Mr. Neil Drury (brother of the bride groom) carried out the duties of best man.

During the signing of the register, Mrs. A. A. T. Robens sang "Love's Coronation," Miss E. Bennett presiding at the organ. As the bridal party left the church they walked between a guard of honour formed by the Methodist Girl Comradeship. At the reception, which was held at the C.W.A. Rest Rooms, Mr. and Mrs. d'Alisoff, assisted by Mrs. A. E. Drury, recievcd the guests, and the usual toasts were honored and good wishes bestowed on the happy couple.

After the bridal party were photographed at Lean's Studio, the bride and bridegroom left by car on a tour of the Northern Rivers and Tableland, the bride travelling in a green diagonal tweed with grey hat and shoes and carrying a grey Morocco handbag, the gift of the bridegroom. The bouquets were the work of Mrs. Lee, florist, of Taree. Mr. and Mrs. Drury have since taken up residence at Dumaresque Island.
