Hi, my name is Timothy Lanier, I am a descendant of Sampson Lanier and Elizabeth Washington Lanier, in your tree, I also suspect I am descendant of their son Lemuel, and his son Washington, brother to your ancestor Benjamin Lanier. My Lanier ancestors came from Va to Tennessee and were in Tennessee by 1832, the birth of my GGgrandfather Andrew Jackson Lanier. My gedmatch number is SS2964887. My father's gedmatch number who would be a generation closer is PJ8350864. I seem to have largest 4.7 cm share on one segment and a total of 9 shared segments. I'm hoping this some proof of relationship with Lanier ancestry. My third great grandfather was a William Lanier, born VA and died before 1850 in Wilson Co, Tennessee. He was married to a Jane Rideout also from Va. (Brunswick Co, VA). I have not been able to establish positive proof of my William's father, so I am testing others gedmatch from wikitree to see if I have a hit. My thrulines on Ancestry does point to Lemuel and his son Washington, because I have cousin matches to their descendants and also to your Benjamin Lanier's siblings, David(half), Sally Sarah(half), Nancy and Benjamin as I said. Do you have an ancestry tree? Thanks.
