Biography
Helen (Dow) Hamer was born in Scotland.
Helen (Dow) Hamer lived in Dunedin, Otago, New Zealand.
Ellen was born Helen Dow on the 15th of February, 1832, and baptised on the 18th in Strathdon, Aberdeenshire, Scotland, United Kingdom, the daughter of Alexander Dow and Elizabeth Mcrobie.[1]
At 28, in 1859, she married Frederick Thomas Borham Hamer, in Dunedin, Otago, New Zealand.[2][3] and they had 8 children.
At 45, on the 29th of February, 1876, a resident of Queen Street, Dunedin, she died of cancer and was buried on the 2nd of March, 1876, in the Southern Cemetery, Dunedin, Otago, New Zealand, Lot 16, Block 18.[4]
