In June 1891 he was introduced to poet and playwright Oscar Wilde and they soon embarked upon an affair. [2]
He married in 1902. [3] His wife was Olive Eleanor Custance. [4]
Lord Alfred died on 20 March 1945 aged 74 leaving an estate valued at £1516 having appointed farmer, Edward William Colman as his executor. [5] His death was registered in Worthing. [6] He was buried with his mother at the Friary Churchyard of St Francis and St Anthony, Crawley in Sussex. [7]
