On 30th June 1555 a charter was granted by Cuthbert Cranstoun of [Lauder] Mains to John Cranstoun, his son, and Margaret, daughter of William Douglas of Whittinghame, spouse of the said John, of the lands of Morristoun, Berwickshire.[1]
In a charter confirmed on 30th October 1558, Margaret, daughter of William Douglas of Whittinghame is mentioned, with her husband John Cranstoun of Burncastle [near Lauder, Berwickshire.][2]
