Frank Dickens was born in Northampton, Northamptonshire, England.

Frank was born in Northampton and educated at Northampton Grammar school, his aptitude for science won him a scholarship to Magdalen College, Cambridge. In 1923 he began research at the Middlesex Hospital with Edward Charles Dodds working on making insulin available to patients. He then worked on the female sex hormone stilboestrol. In 1929 he worked with Otto Warburg in Berlin and translated his book 'On the Metabolism of Tumors' into English. From 1933 to 1946 he was director of the Cancer Research Laboratory in Newcastle upon Tyne. Dodds then invited him back to the Courtauld Institute where he research the mechanism by which living tissue derives energy from carbohydrate and it's link to tumour growth. [1]

Frank was born in 1899. registered in the first quarter of the year in Northampton, Northamptonshire, England.[2]

He married Molly Jelleyman in 1925, registered in the first quarter of the year in Northampton.[3]

He passed away in 1986, registered in the second quarter of the year in Worthing, Sussex.[4]
