Biography

Stuart was born in 1916. He attended Shore School where he was close friends with Peter Finch (actor) and Paul Brickhill (author of Dam Busters, Great Escape & Reach For The Sky). ^[1]

After the war Stuart and Joan were married on 26th January 1947 in North Sydney and he returned to his career in radio becoming the Chief Radio Announcer with Station 2HD in Newcastle.^[4]

He was a foundation and active member of numerous committees such as Air Force Assoc., Actors Equity, Australia Day, Vietnam Veterans Assoc. and Fighter World in Newcastle. On 25th September he was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia for services to veterans.

Stuart died on 15 Oct 2002 in Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia, aged 86. ^[5]
