Biography

Charles Edwin Dews was born on 28 May 1902 in Ellsworth Falls, Ellsworth, Hancock, Maine, United States^[1], son of Edwin Garfield Dews (1881 - 1975) and Inez Lucinda Gray (~1882 - ~1906).

His sister was Irene A. (Dews) Mountain (1904 - 1987).

In the 1920 census Charles (age 18) was the single son of Edwin Dews in Ellsworth, Hancock, Maine, United States.^[2]

Charles (25) married Blanche Claudie LaRochelle (18) (born in Saint-Théophile, Beauce-Sartigan, Quebec, Canada on 2 Aug 1909; died in Dexter, Penobscot, Maine on 6 Jul 1992), daughter of Saloman Thomas LaRochelle and Marceline Rochette, on 27 Aug 1927 in Dexter^[3]. Their children were:

1. Evelyn Inez (Dews) Eglitis (1928 - 1984)
2. Edwin Thomas Dews (1932 - 2004).

In the 1930 census Charles (age 27) was the married head of household in Hampden, Penobscot, Maine, United States.^[4]

In the 1940 census Charles (age 37) was the married head of household in Dexter, Penobscot, Maine, United States.^[5]

Charles died on 7 Nov 1950 aged 48. ^[6]He is buried in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter, Maine.^[7]
