Biography
Ruth was born the daughter of Joseph Deveraux and Jean Louis and her birth was registered[1][2]during the third quarter of 1868 in the district of Bedwellty, Monmouthshire, Wales, United Kingdom.
The April 1871 census[3]shows Ruth residing with her family in Watkins Row, Cwmtillery, Monmouthshire.
Ruth, late of Seventh Avenue, Midvale, Salt Lake County, Utah, United States of America, passed away[4]aged eighty six on 16 November 1955 from a cerebral vascular accident. Ruth, a widow was laid to rest[5]in Plot B-176-3, American Fork Cemetery, American Fork, Utah County, Utah.
Research Notes
Furth research is required to the birth of Ruth. According to her death certificate her birth date is noted as 29 March 1869. However, her birth registration indicates third quarter of 1868.
In addition her mother's maiden name indicates Louis on her mother's grave. Howver, the birth registration indicates a mother's maiden name of Lewis. To confirm the surname of Lewis the marriage registration of Ruth's parents Joseph Deveraux and Jean Louis during the second quarter of 1852 in the district of Abergavenny, Monmouthshire spells Jane's surname as Lewis. Her christian neame may also need further research as at this time it is noted as Jean. Ruth's death certificate indicates her mother's name as Jane Lewis.
