Biography
Alfred was born on 15 September 1848 to John Mackmin and Sarah Mackmin nee Akhurst and his birrth was registered[1][2]during the fourthh quarter of 1848 in the district of St Lukes, Middlesex, England, United Kingdom.
Alfred was baptised[3]along with his sisters Amelia Richards and Elizabeth Crowhurst on 8 October 1848 in the parish of St. Lukes, Finsbury, Middlesex. At the time of the ceremony the family resided in Tabernacle Row, Finsbury, Middlesex and their fatherJohn Mackmin was noted as a Smith.
The March 1851 census[4]shows Alfred residing with his family in Allerton Street, Hoxton, Middlesex.
The April 1861 census[5]shows Alfred residing with his family in Clift Street, Hoxton.
Alfred married Jane Mackmin and the marriage was registered[6]during the fourth quarter of 1870 in the district of Lambeth, Surrey, England.
The April 1871 census[7]shows Alfred residing with his family in Nursery Road, Brixton, Surrey.
The April 1881 census[8]shows Alfred residing with his family in Toronto Centre, York, Ontario, Canada.
The April 1891 census[9]shows Alfred residing with his family in St. Andrews Ward, Toronto.
The July 1911 census[10]shows Alfred residing with his family in King Street, Toronto.
Alfred, a widower and late of Dundas West Street, Toronto, passed away[11]aged sixty four on Boxing Day, 26 December 1938 of coronary thrombosis. Alfred was laid to rest[12]a couple of days later in Prospect Cemetery, Toronto.
