Biography

Thomas Delano, son of Jonathan and Mercy (Warren) Delano, was born 10 May 1704 at Dartmouth. He married Jean Peckham 4 Nov. 1727 at Dartmouth. Children Thomas (b. 1729), Abisha (b. 1731), Ephraim (b. 1733), Jabez (b. 1734), Gideon (b. 1736), Deborah (b. 1739), Jane (b. 1743).[1]

On 18 Jan. 1731/2 Thomas Delano of Dartmouth, for 24 pounds, sold to Moses Shearman a five-acre plot of land "being part of that land which was given to said Delano by his honored father in his last will and testament" bordering Delano's land, Thomas Fitch's land and Shearman's homestead.

Bristol County Deed Book, vol. 30, p. 300: On 29 Oct. 1741 Thomas Delano of Dartmouth, for 110 pounds, sold to Nathaniel Delano 21 acres bordering Jethro Delano, Lettice Jenney and Jabez Delano (mentioning a survey of said tract in the Proprietors' Book of Record), together with a parcel of salt marsh meadow held in partnership with said Nathaniel Delano and joining his homestead, being one and a quarter acres (one quarter of the whole).
