Biography

Susanah (Davison) Shoffner was born on 26 Dec 1793 in Orange, North Carolina, United States, daughter of John Davisson (1745 - ~1825) and Rachel (Battin) Davidson (1751 - ~1825).

Susanah (36) married Johann Frederic Shoffner (~68) (~1761 - 1846) on 30 Mar 1830 in Chatham, North Carolina. Their children were:

  1. Anias Edwin Shoffner (1831 - 1903)
  2. Tetman Monroe Shoffner (1835 - 1910).

Susanah died on 29 Sep 1857 in Chatham aged 63. She is buried in Cane Creek Monthly Meeting Cemetery, Snow Camp, North Carolina.

Research Notes

According to references to photocopies of the "Jackson Buckner Family Bible" (Susanah's daughter, Jemima, married Jackson Buckner), Susanah was born 26 Dec 1793.[1]

"Susanna Davison Pike married a rich German, Fredrick Shoffner in 1831 (sic). Four of Susanna's children, Alfred, William, Ruth and Jemima lived with their mother and step father. Jemima moved out of the home in August of 1839 to live with an Aunt. In October of that same year she moved in with her cousin, Samuel Pike."[2]

Susannah (Davidson) Shoffner was buried at Cane Creek Monthly Meeting Cemetery in Snow Camp, Alamance County, North Carolina, US.
