Biography

The 1911 census shows the family of David Benjamin Davies, 54, living in Blaengarw. His wife was Rachel, 51, and children (all born in Blaengarw) were Beatrice Maud Davies, 22, John Henry Davies, 19, Taliesen James Davies, 16, and Gwenfron Davies, 12.[1]

A family letter dated 1945 indicates that Taliesin Davies was living in Blaengarw at that time.[2]

Research Notes

There is a gravestone for a Taliesin J. Davies in Bettws, Bridgend that must be his. The inscription indicates that he died on 19 February 1964 at the age of 68 (so born 1895–96).[3] Bettws is 5 miles south of Blaengarw.

The gravestone inscription also indicates that his wife's married name was Mary Ann Davies, that she died 24 December 1960 at the age of 70, that they had a daughter named Muriel.

Findmypast shows a marriage record of Talliesan J. Davies and Mary Pearce in the district of Bridgend in 1927[4] and a birth record of a Muriel Davies, whose mother's maiden name was Pearce in the district of Bridgend in 1932.[5]

There is a probate record that shows Taliesin J. Davies of 52 Merlin Crescent, Cefn Glas, Bridgend, Glamorgan, who died 19 February 1964 at Maesgwyn Hospital, Bryncethin, Glamorgan.[6]
