Biography

Marietta Caroline Darnall was born on 24 Jan 1920 in Wabash, Wabash, Indiana as the daughter of Maynard Carver Darnall (1887-abt.1949) and Edna (Hunt) Gibson (1893-1974).^[1][2]

Marietta Darnall and Lieutenant Ernest William Schilling (abt.1918-abt.1990)^[1] married at the St. Boniface Church in Lafayette, IN on 24 Jun 1941 and lived in Fayetteville, N.C. where he was stationed with the 72nd field artillery. Both she and her husband had attended Purdue University prior to their marriage.^[3]

In 1950 Ernest (31 and Marietta (30) were living with their 3 children, Mary K Schilling (7), Ernest H Schilling(3), and Carol A Schilling (1) at 822 Shawnee, in Lafayette, Tippecanoe, Indiana. Ernest was shown as working for wire manufacturing business.^[4]

Marietta died at the age of 65 on 23 Sep 1985 in Culver, Marshall, Indiana and was placed at eternal rest at the Culver Masonic Cemetery in Culver. (Cause of death is shown on the certificate.)^[1]
