Flag of Yorkshire (adopted 2008)
Joah Dalton was born in Yorkshire, England.

Joah Dalton was born in 1826 in Denby Dale, Yorkshire. He was the son of Aaron Dalton[1]. The 1861 Census shows him living in West Bretton with the occupation of warehouseman[2]. The 1871 census shows him living at Bagden Lodge Scissett, occupation warehouseman. [3] . The 1881 census shows him as Innkeeper at the Travellers Rest, Denby Dale [4]. On his son Charles' marriage record, Joah's occupation is recorded as 'farmer'[5] His son Albert appears to have then taken over the farm following Joah's death.
