Isaac William "IKE" Culp was born 22 Sep 1870 in Coryell, Coryell County, Texas, USA. ^[1]

Isaac was raised on a farm on what is now part of Fort Hood. He graduated from the University of Texas at Austin and was admitted to the Texas Bar in 1899.

In 1911, a description of Culp included: He has gained recognition as an able and versatile trial lawyer and well-fortified counselor.

Culp was also an ordained Baptist minister, a Democrat, and active in the real estate business with his father-in-law. ^[2]

Isaac was the husband of Emma Elizabeth (Hoover) Culp — married 21 Jul 1901 in Bell, Texas, USA.^[3]

He was also the father of Oveta (Culp) Hobby, the first director of the Women's Army Corps. ^[4]

Isaac served three terms with the Texas State Legislative serving Bell, Milan and Coryell counties between the years 1899-1925. ^[5]
