Biography

John was born in England about 1620.

He has been confused with another John Cromwell , possibly son to Phillip Cromwell and Unknown Cooper, who is believed to have followed his father to Salem and remained there.

John lived in Salem.^{[citation needed]}

He married Elizabeth by 1643 in either Salem or Westchester, where they bought land.

In 1688 they made a will leaving their land to their son, James. ^[1]

They had at least two children, Elizabeth and James.
