I meant to post this a wee while ago but have been caught up working on other Wikitree stuff.
Welcome to the Scotland project. I hope you get a great deal of pleasure collaborating with colleagues in this great project. If you have any questions or wish any advice either send me a private message or email me.
Hi Nancy, I see you have joined the Magna Carta project and found you are related to many of the Barons. I recently discovered I am too, so I used the relationship finder and discovered we are 15th cousins. How amazing eh!!
Hi Alistair! Thanks for writing, Cousin. :) I haven't joined the MC project yet. For now, I am following the tag and reading some of the old discussion postings. Most of my questions about the project have probably already been asked and answered. I'm eventually going to see if I can verify the one 'Gateway Ancestor' that pops up on my mother's side, Edward Kemp. My father's side lights up for different Barons via a couple of different routes, and at least one of them does not include the name of a Gateway Ancestor. Haven't checked the names on the other route as carefully yet, but I guess that's not unusual. The way I understand it, you can be a direct lineal descendant of a Baron while NOT being a direct lineal descendant of any of the designated gateway ancestors. Anyway, it's fun to learn about all of this! Cheers and best wishes.

Thank you for adding your DNA Test to your profile on WikiTree. Getting Started with DNA will tell you more about how DNA kits are used on WikiTree.
DNA at WikiTree provides a visual way for you to find others who have tested and have the potential of having common ancestors. It normally takes 24 hours from adding a test, or adding a new ancestor, or ancestor’s descendant, for WikiTree to display your name and test results on your ancestors and their descendants’ profiles for potential cousins to compare results with. The process of identifying which branch elements of DNA relate to will better enable you to find matches which relate to the particular branches you are researching.
Have fun!

https://www.wikitree.com/index.php?title=Special:Relationship&action=calculate&person1_name=Crawford-18578&person2_name=Fraser-6140 I suggest you use relationship finder to see who else you are related to going further back or forward. I also discovered I was related to Princess Diana, Winston Churchill, Ulysses S Grant, Cassius Clay, Marlon Brando among many, plus the Plantagenets and even Charlemagne. Mind you, I'm not sure that having such exulted connections is particularly special: http://nautil.us/issue/56/perspective/youre-descended-from-royalty-and-so-is-everybody-else Still, it is so cool to discover who we are connected to and use this awareness to learn more about them and those times. Best wishes to you Cousin :-)
