She was a retired instructor for the Georgia Department Of Human Resources, having worked with handicapped adults in Turner County for many years. During retirement she was very active in the community, as a member of the Fire Ant Festival Committee, a tour guide at the Crime and Punishment Museum, and a volunteer at the Victoria Evans Memorial Library. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church. ^[5]
