Eric Roland Cotterill the son of George T Cotterill & Dora G Cotterill, was born in 1892 in Paddington in the Colony New South Wales, in what was soon to become Australia.[1]
Eric served in World War I (service number 365).[2]
Eric Cotterill is an Anzac who served in World War One.
In fact Sergeant Eric Roland Cotterill enlisted into the Australian Imperial Force (AIF) on the 21 September 1914. His Next of Kin was listed as his mother, Mrs George S Cotterill of Edward Street, Young, New South Wales. He states he served 3 years as a Naval Cadet and 2 in Naval Reserve prior to the war. His assigned unit the 13th Battalion, D Company embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board Transport A38 Ulysses on 22 December 1914.
2nd Lieutenant Eric Roland Cotterill died on 9 May 1915 and is buried at Quinns Post Cemetery, Turkey.[3]
Eric Cotterill was Killed in Action during World War I.
