I am a person interested in almost everything, a physicist by trade, mother of two. My family history has always fascinated me, as some episodes are pretty colorful, but through genealogy digging I found that things were not always as my eldest told me. I have a respectful amount of pictures, documents and letters that I intend to put into order and extract more data from. As far as I know, my family is mostly Italian (Lombardia region) and Austrian (Carinthia and Bohemia). I recently found that an ashkenazi jewish branch through one of my great-grandmothers was from L'Viv, Ukraine.

I keep adjusting a FSP for German Disapora. https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:German_Diaspora:_Emigration_during_the_mid-19th_Century
I learnt the basic format from the Italy Project
Now for my negative opinion. I liked the way the earlier version could connect Italy and historic regions with any part or the world. In my opinion the breaking of Italian Diaspora into regional teams is a step backwards (https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:Italian_Roots_Diaspora.) What can you do when you are looking at migration without any knowledge of the current regional location category structure for locations in Wikitree?

I just saw your comment on the video chat just as we were signing off! :-)
If you have a marriage certificate, and it only mentions the parents w/out dates, the method I use it to just make a note in the biography using a "Research Notes" header and state what the parents' names are. Then, as I'm researching, I have that information there so I can verify it against census listings, birth & death records, etc. At some point, you'll probably run across a record showing their dates, and you can create their profiles.
I hope this helps!! And welcome!!
Julie
Of course -- were you able to find birth dates for them? If not, you can estimate dates, and we have a page here to give you suggestions on doing that: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Estimated_Dates
Welcome to the South African Project Looking forward to working with you
On our home page at https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Project:South_African_Roots/Sources (under the Baptismal records) there are some links to church records for Natal
