George Clinton Cooper was one of the Golden Thirteen - the thirteen African American enlisted men who became the first African American commissioned and warrant officers in the United States Navy.[1]

George Clinton Cooper was born in 1916.[2][3]

He passed away in 2002[4] and is buried in Woodland Cemetery and Arboretum in Dayton, Ohio.[5]
