George Clinton Cooper was one of the Golden Thirteen - the thirteen African American enlisted men who became the first African American commissioned and warrant officers in the United States Navy.^[1]

George Clinton Cooper was born in 1916.^[2][3]

He passed away in 2002^[4] and is buried in Woodland Cemetery and Arboretum in Dayton, Ohio.^[5]
