Janet Colville was the daughter of Sir Robert Colville of Hiltoun and Eupheme Wallace. She married Alexander Boyd, 3rd Lord Boyd of Kilmarnock, son of Robert Boyd, 1st Lord Boyd of Kilmarnock and Mariot Maxwell, before 23 November 1505. From before 23 November 1505, her married name became Boyd.
