Addie was born on the 18 of April, in 1949 to Julius and Alice Collins.[1]Addie had six siblings.
On Sunday, September 15,1963 Addie Collins (14), Cynthia Wesley (14), Carole Robertson (14), and Denise McNair(11) died in the bombing of the 16th Street Baptist Church in Birmingham, Alabama.[2]Sarah , her younger sister was also injured in the bombing but she recovered.
On May 24, 2013, President Obama signed a bill designating the Congressional Gold Medal commemorating the lives of the four young girls killed in the 1963 bombing of the 16th Street Baptist Church of Birmingham, Alabama.
