Biography

Henry Cockerill was born in 1867 in Richmond, Victoria, Australia^[1], the son of James Cockerill and Elizabeth Watts.

He married Martha Ellen Dickinson in 1889 in Victoria.^[2]

Their children were:

• Ethel May Cockerill (1892–1914)^[3]
• Myrtle Doris Cockerill (1895–1974)^[4]
• Gladys Olive Cockerill (1904–1983)^[5]

Henry died on 22 October 1930 in Preston, Victoria, Australia^[6] and was buried at the Coburg Pine Ridge Cemetery, Coburg, Moreland City, Victoria, Australia^[7].

COCKERILL.-On the 22nd October, at 7 Martin-street, East Preston, Henry, the beloved husband of Martha Ellen, loved father of May (deceased), Myrtle (Mrs. Westcott), and Gladys (Mrs. A. French); dear granddad of Joyce and Lorna. Peace, perfect peace. Privately interred, Coburg Cemetery, on 23rd October.

COCKERILL.-On the 22nd October, passed peacefully away at 7 Martin-street, East Preston, Harry, the beloved brother-in-law and uncle of Mr. and Mrs. H. W. Scaife and family, of 17 Smith-street, Thornbury. No burdens yonder.
