Samuel was a Friend (Quaker)
The birth of Samuel Coale, the son of William and Elizabeth Coale, born the 9th day of the 2nd month 1676 is recorded in the records of the West River Quaker meeting. Since the Quakers begin the year in March, Samuel's birth month is April.[1]
