He lived with his parents and his older brother Lawrence in Algoma, Ontario, Canada (1901), Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada (1906) and Red Deer Sub-Districts 80-128, Alberta, Canada (1911).
Tragically he died in 1913 at the age of 13, after his brother Lawrence accidentally shot him with a revolver. Austin was buried in Red Deer Cemetery, Red Deer, Red Deer Census Division, Alberta, Canada[2].
