Biography
Ruth Claudon Diller, 80, Richland Manor Nursing Home, Bluffton, died at 3 a.m. Sunday in the nursing home following an extended illness. She was born June 5, 1897 in Meadows, Ill., to David N. and Kathryn (Egly) Claudon. She married Clarence D. Diller, Jan. 11, 1922, and he died in 1969. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Lloyd (Marie) Brown, Midland, Mich.; Mrs. Spencer (Ruth) Sawyer, Naperville, Ill.; five sons, Dr. Alford, Convoy; David, Los Angeles, Calif.; Mark, Toledo; Dr. James, Toledo; Dr. Timothy, Mineapolis, Minn.; two sisters, Naomi Lugibill, Bradenton, Fla.; Mrs. Ray (Ann) Bock, Miami, Fla.; a brother, Joseph Caudon, Valpariaso, Ind.; 33 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Mrs. Diller was a lifetime meber of the Evangelical Mennonite Church, Bluffton, until it closed. She then joined the Ebenezer Mennonite Church, Bluffton. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Paul Diller & Son Chapel, Bluffton, the Rev. Rubin Short officiating. Burial will be in the Evangelical Mennonite Cemetery, Bluffton.
