Biography
Son of Reuben Lee Childs and Lillian B. Shipley.[1]
In 1920 his father Reuben L Chiles was age 35, born in Kentucky. His mother Lillie Chiles was age 36, born in Kentucky. His sister Mattie L. Chiles was age 4. His brother Thomas Chiles was age 1.[2]
Thomas was age 11 in 1930, living in his parents' household in Somerset, Pulaski, Kentucky. Reverend R L Childs was age 45, b Kentucky. His wife Lillie was age 44, b Kentucky. Son Loyd Childs was age 15, b Kentucky. Daughter Madeline was age 14 b Kentucky. Son Thomas Childs was age 11, b Kentucky. Son George Childs was age 8, b Kentucky. Daughter Lillian B. Childs was age 4, b. Kentucky.[3]
Thomas was single, without dependents, when he registered for the World War II draft in the U. S. Signal Corps in 1942. He had had 4 years of college.[4]
He married Cornelia A. Fields, 1918-2018
In 1950 Thomas was a science teacher in the public schools of Somerset, Kentucky. His wife Carnelia Childs was a home economics teacher. Both were age 31, born in Kentucky.[5]
