Alice Jane Chase was born 29 October 1805 in Cornish, Sullivan County, New Hampshire to Ithamar Chase and Janette Ralston Chase.
Alice lived with her sister's family - the Skinners - in Lockport, New York for many years. She accompanied her sister, Janette Chase Skinner, to Ohio after the death of Janette's husband, Dr. Josiah Skinner, in 1854.
Alice Chase died 17 February 1859 in Columbus, Ohio. She left a will in which she bequeathed her estate ".. to her sister Janette Chase Skinner and the children of Josiah K Skinner and said Janette S his wife .." Her sister-in-law, Mary Eliza Chase, wife of Edward Ithamar Chase, was a witness.
