Disputed Origins

Previous versions of this profile claimed, citing online trees,[1] which might possibly be relying on Threlfall's theory[2] that Priscilla, wife of John Ramsdell, was daughter of Aquila Chase and Martha Jelliman. That couple's children's baptisms are recorded and do not include a daughter Priscilla.[3]

Ian Watson, with support of Christopher Child, explored the possibility that Priscilla was a daughter of Aquilla Purchase, but DNA tests disproved that possibility.[4]

Biography

Priscilla was born about 1612.

She married John Ramsdell.

She passed away in 1675.

Katherine, please see the "disputed origins" section of the biography. Thank you.
The 2017 Watson article also proved that Priscilla (_______) Ramsdell was not the daughter of Aquila Purchase.

The article by Ian Watson (in sources) American Ancestors (2017) tried to prove the lineage of Aquilla Ramsdell and found that he was probably *not* a grandchild of Aquilla Chase, citing John Brooks, Fifty Great Migration Colonists to New England & Their Origins, (Madison, WI, 1990), 303. Also John Carroll Chase, Seven Generations of the Descendants of Aquilla and Thomas Chase, (Derry, NH, 1928), 29-35. His research was inconclusive on other proof so far using Y-DNA.

Ugh, I think I know why she's believed to be a Chase and possibly daughter of Aquila Chase-- one of her Children is named Aquila and that's a very rare name but used in the Aquila Chase family. Thoughts?

Chase-1562 and Chase-6682 appear to represent the same person because: Same spouse and death date

What is the evidence of her being daughter of Aquila Chase, please? Thanks.
