Boyd and McCracken state:
John Chadwick, fourth child and second son of Thomas Chadwick by wife Sarah Wolcott, was born at Watertown, 20 Nov. 1680. We are not certain as to his subsequent history, but we are inclined to believe that he was the John Chadwick who married at Boston on 18 Dec. 1701, Mary Verin (spelling: Vereing or Vecin). She would appear to have been the youngest child of John and Mary (Wiseman) Verin, born 20 May 1683. He cannot have been the John who with wife Priscilla had a daughter Mary born at Boston on 1 Dec. 1693, and a son John born there 1 Oct. 1695. We think that John and Mary removed soon to Scituate where the first five children are recorded as those of John Chadwick, mother's name not given. He removed again, if we are still right, from Scituate to Newport, Rhode Island, and died there 17 Dec. 1727 (Friends Records).[2]
