Biography

Betty X was born November 5, 1927 to Glenn Cashion and Helen.[1] She was left with St. Joseph's Hospital in Asheville as a ward of the state of North Carolina. As a baby, she most probably lived with the Sisters of Mercy, who ran the hospital. She was fostered January 20, 1928 and adopted September 5, 1928 by Walter Gaulden and Mary Ethel Whitesides and raised as their own.[2]
