Tuskegee Airman and Congressional Gold Medal recipient in 2007, he served in the military during World War II, Korea and Vietnam.

Floyd Jefferson Carter was born 2 November 1922 in York, Virginia.[1][2] He was the son of Thomas Jefferson Carter and Mildred Segar.

Lt. Col Floyd Jefferson Carter, age 95, died 8 March 2018 in New York and is buried at Arlington National Cemetery.[3][4]
