I am assuming that you are the John Carollo who sent me a private message about Joel Merchant. Since the person was not signed in to WikiTree when the message was sent, I am guessing here! Anyway, thanks for the message. I will see if I can find any evidence that "my" Joel is related to Abraham Marchant. It might be a tough road to prove but not impossible. I am happy to have any information you might find that will prove this one way or the other.
Thanks so much, Ginny Fields
I suspect that Joel may have participated in the early Seminole Wars. There's a sketchy record of an 1818 Joel Marchant Army enlistment on Family Search. That could be how he ended up in the South. As best as I can determine, the migration path of the rest of his siblings stayed north of the Ohio River.
Happy to help, John
John

Congratulations on certifying to work on pre-1700 profiles! It’s very important to read and understand the Help:Pre-1700 Profiles page. These profiles for deep ancestors are shared by many, and collaborating on them works best if we all follow the guidelines in the certification quiz.
Primary sources should always be added to pre-1700 profiles at the time they are created. If you don't have a source for a pre-1700 profile, it would be best to ask for help in the G2G forum before creating the profile.
