Richard H. Cain was a minister and politician who served in the United States Congress as a representative from South Carolina.
His adopted daughter, Ann (Cook) Edwards (1856-), was interviewed in 1937 in Texas. She described some incidents in their home life reflecting on the violence sometimes directed against their family.
