If Cutter is correct and Joseph Butman was married to Esther who died in Wenham, Massachusetts on 2 Sept 1782 [1]then he couldn't have been married to Margaret Wise of Newbury. Ann Dike may have been his first wife if she died early. Cutter sets his death date at 16 July 1777 in Wenham, Massachusetts.
