James William (Jimmy) Buffett was an American singer, songwriter, actor, author and businessman. He was known for his Island music, especially the songs Margaritaville and Cheeseburger in Paradise.[2][3]
When James William Buffett was born on 25 December 1946, in Pascagoula, Jackson, Mississippi, United States, his father, J. D. Buffet, was 27 and his mother, Margaret Peets, was 25.
On 19 July 1969, Jimmy was married to Margaret Louise Washichek in Montgomery, Alabama. On the marriage record, his parents were listed as James Delaney Buffett and Mary Lorraine Peets. Margret's parents were listed as Paul Edward Washichek and Fannie Emily Blackstone. Jimmy was 22 and Margaret was 22 when they married.[4] Jimmy and Margaret divorced 1 November 1972 in Monroe, Florida.[5]
He married second Jane Slagsvol In 1977.[6]
He lived in Key West, Monroe, Florida, United States in 2005 and Los Angeles, California, United States for about one year.[7] In 1989, his occupation was listed as part-owner of Miami/Fort Myers Miracle minor-league baseball team.
He died on 1 September 2023, at the age of 76.[8][9]
