Biography

Elizabeth (Brown) Steeves was born about 1790, daughter of Joseph Brown (1749 - ) and Rachel (Round) Brown (1744 - ~1805).

Elizabeth married Abraham Steeves , son of Johannes Steeves and Anna Margretha Lutz, on 22 Nov 1808. Their children were:

  1. John Francis Steves (1810 - 1860)
  2. Margaret (Steeves) MacFarlane (1815 - )
  3. Hannah Steeves (1817 - 1895)
  4. Levi Thomas Steeves (1817 - )
  5. Stephen Steeves (1819 - 1908)
  6. Catherine Steeves (1821 - >1900)
  7. Ann Steeves (1823 - )
  8. Abraham Steeves (1825 - )
  9. Eli Steeves (1827 - 1828)
  10. David Steeves (1829 - 1829)
  11. Susannah (Steeves) Dawson (1830 - 1885).

Elizabeth died on 3 Oct 1834 in Hillsborough, Albert County, New Brunswick, Canada aged ~44. She is buried in First Hillsborough United Baptist Church Cemetery, Hillsborough, New Brunswick.

Note: presumably a granddaughter of John Brown of Hillsborough who died of smallpox in 1776.
