Biography

Jacob Bross (later spelled "Brosz") was born 23 Dec 1844 at Alt Postal, Bessarabia, Russian Empire, Ukraine,[1] died 29 Jun 1916 at Wiste, Alberta, Canada, son of Adam Bross and Anna Sauter; married 1 April 1866 to Wilhelmina Hoff, born 8 November 1845, died aft 1900, daughter of Gottlieb Hoff (1825- ) and Louise Pasche (or Rasche) Hoff; buried at St. Peter's German Lutheran Cemetery, Hemaruka, Hanna Census Division, Alberta, Canada.[2]

Jacob later spelled his last name "Brosz," and the family moved from Ukraine to South Dakota, United States before 1887, when daughter Emilie was born at Bon Homme County, South Dakota.
