Marlin Briscoe was an American football quarterback and wide receiver. In October 1968, he became the first Black starting quarterback in professional American football.

Marlin Oliver Briscoe was born on 10 Sep 1945 in Oakland, California.[1] He was the son of Marlin Briscoe and Geneva (Allen) Briscoe.

Marlin married Nicolette Naida Phillips on 10 June 1978 in California.[2] The marriage ended in divorce in 1982.[3]

Two other marriages also ended in divorces.[4]

Marlin died on 27 Jun 2022 in Norwalk, Los Angeles, California aged 76.[4]
