Biography

Jean (John I) de Brienne (c. 1170 – 27 Mar 1237).[1] ... 'By election of the Barons, Jean became King of Jerusalem in right of his wife, Mary. Mary died within a short time, leaving a daughter, in whose right Jean reigned. He returned to Europe after his daughter's marriage.'[citation needed]

He's Latin Emperor of Constantinople, a higher title than King of Jerusalem. I thought we only give highest title in the name field, and move the others to the bio?

Richardson, Douglas. Royal Ancestry: A Study In Colonial And Medieval Families, in 5 vols. (Salt Lake City, Utah, 2013), Vol., I, page 536.

Berengere (or Berenguela) Of Castile-Leon, born in 1204. She married in 1223 (as his 3rd wife) Jean De Brienne, 3rd son of Erard II de Brienne, by Agnes, daughter of Guillaume III, Count of Nevers, Auxerre, and Tonnerre. He was born c. 1169-74. They had three sons, Alphonse [9th Count of Eu, Chamberlain of France], Jean [Butler of France], and Louis, Chev. [Vicomte of Beaumont], and one daughter, Marie (wife of Baudouin [II]. ... Jean married (1st) at Tyre 14 Sept. 1210 Marie De Monferrato. Queen of Jerusalem, daughter and heiress of Conrad de Monferrato, by Isabelle, Queen of Jerusalem, daughter, Amaury I, King of Jerusalem. Marie was born at Tyre in the summer of 1191. They had one daughter, Isabelle (wife of Friedrich II, Holy Roman emperor). He married (2nd) in 1213 Stephanie Of armenia, daughter and heiress of Leo II, King of Armenia. They had one son, Jean.
