Samuel Brice is a part of US Black heritage.
Samuel Brice was born on 10 February 1865 in Kittanning Township, Armstrong, Pennsylvania, United States [1] to Robert Brice and Harriet Simpson. [2]
In 1870, Samuel was living in Kalamazoo, Kalamazoo, Michigan, United States with his mother and Rolfe Bowser. [3]
In 1880, Samuel was living in Grand Rapids, Kent, Michigan, United States with his mother. He was working as a laborer. [4]
On 27 November 1892, Samuel married Anna Halk in Grand Rapids, Kent, Michigan, United States. He was 27 and working as a butcher. She was 21. [5]
In 1900, Samuel and Anna were living in Grand Rapids, Kent, Michigan, United States. Samuel's mother and a boarder lived with them. Anna had not had children by this time. Samuel worked as a butcher. [6]

Obituary reads: "Samuel Brice, 82, resident of Grand Rapids 72 years, died Thursday at his home, 950 Covell-av., SW, after a brief illness.
Mr. Brice had been a butcher on the west side for 65 years. He was born February 10, 1865 in Kittaning, Pennsylvania.
Surviving are his wife, Alice; two sons, Russell and Lester; a daughter, Mrs. Imogene Green, all of Grand Rapids, and seven grandchildren.
The body will be at the residence until Saturday noon. Funeral services willb e held Saturday at 2 at the Joldersma chapel, 823 Leonard st., NW, with burial in Greenwood cemetery. [14]
