Kwame Brathwaite is Notable.
Propelled the "Black is Beautiful" Movement, to restore pride and dignity to African American Women, encouraging natural black hairstyles, and clothing.
He helped create AJASS, the African Jazz Art Society & Studio.
Kwame was born in 1938. He passed away in 2023.
