Biography

Mary Catherine (Boutillier) Boutilier is the descendant of a Huguenot emigrant.

Mary Catherine Boutilier was born August 9, 1781^[1], the daughter of Jacques Boutilier and Susanne Rigoleau. She was baptized on March 31, 1782 at the Saint John Anglican Church in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia (SJAL)^{[2] [3]}.

Her parents moved to Coxheath, Cape Breton in 1811^[3], however she was married before then.

On November 11, 1797, she married her cousin, James David Boutilier, the son of Jean George Boutilier and Anna Catherine Maillard, also of Lunenburg^[3][4] , and their children included:

1. Catherine Susanna, born about 1800, who married John Langille, and who died in 1842^[2]
2. Joseph, born August 12, 1816^[3]
3. James Boutilier^[1]
