Biography

Shuckburgh Boughton, son of William Boughton of Little Lawton & Dame Catherine his wife was baptised 25 Mar 1703 in Newbold on Avon.[1]

He was educated at Balliol College, Oxford. [2]

By a marriage allegation dated 19 March 1734, Shuckburgh married Mary Greville, daughter of Algernon Greville and his wife, Mary Somerset, at St Anne, Westminster. [3] Shuckburgh and Mary had children including

  • Charles
  • Elizabeth baptised 9 December 1745, Basford, Staffordshire.[4]
  • William baptised 18 February 1752, Vowchurch, Herefordshire.[5]
  • Jane baptised 9 July 1758, Herefordshire.[6] Assumed died before codicils added to will in 1761
  • Mary
  • Ann
  • Lucy

He died in 1763 and was buried in St Marylebone on 10th May.[7] He left a will as Shuckburgh Boughton of Poston Court, Herefordshire. The will was dated 24 December 1755 with a codicil dated 10 August 1761 and a second codicil 6 December 1761. It was probated 20 July 1763.[8] In the will he mentioned
