Biography

Edgar Bolden Sr is Notable.

Edgar Bolden served as a US military pilot during World War II. He was one of the “Documented Original Tuskegee Airmen.” The Tuskegee Airmen were known for heroic combat service in support of Allied Forces in the European Theater. They served with the 332d Expeditionary Operations Group and the 477th Bombardment Group, both largely Black units of the United States Army Air Forces.

Edgar Bolden, son of William H and Viola Pearl (Hyson) Bolden, was born in 1921 in Arlington, Virginia.^[1][2][3]

In 1930 he was living with his grandparents and siblings in Washington, Arlington County, Virginia.

In 1940 he was living with his mother VIola and an uncle in Arlington, Virginia. He was working as an electrician and had completed 4 years of high school.

After his World War II service as a Tuskegee Airman, Edgar married Klara Guyton in Marion, Indiana in 1945. ^[4]

In 1950 they were living in Dayton, Ohio with two small children. Edgar was listed as operating his own business at Wright Field in Dayton.

He died in 2007.^[1] He has a profile on FindAGrave but his burial details are unknown.^[5]
